What We're About
Inter Varsity Club (IVC) was formed some 60 years ago by a couple of Cambridge undergraduates, with the aim of continuing their social activities during vacations and after university. They probably wouldn't have guessed that they'd sown the seeds for the thriving community of about 50 clubs and 5000 members across the UK that we are today. Whilst historically professionally orientated, most clubs today welcome a wide range of like minded people with similar interests and a fun loving and sociable outlook on life.
We are the Milton Keynes arm of the IVC, with over 100 diverse members ranging in their 20's to 50's... singles, attached, married... from all walks of life - who like to meet, socialise, make friends and enjoy ourselves. What we have in common is a sense of fun and readiness to participate - we are run by members for the members and are a non-profit making organisation.
What kind of things do we do?
We the members ourselves arrange an unbelieveably huge variety of events: from pub nights, quiz nights, theatre shows and performances, to cinema, house parties, club nights, restaurant meals, barbecues, walks, hikes, runs, skating, bowling, football, cycling, badminton, golf, tennis, short trips, camping and holidays in the UK, and sometimes abroad - and so much more. Just browse our Events page to see what we've been up to in the last few months and what we've got planned ahead. And further, if you don't see a particular type of event you like doing, then join us and organise it as an event yourself!
Chances are you'll find at least a few others in the club with similar interests. What's that they say about great minds...!?
And it's very likely, you'll spark new interests in others.
What next?
